HEIRLOOM aka "TOMATO"
Vinca x Technique, 2012 Registered Oldenburg/NA, Chestnut Colt
WHY CHOOSE THIS FOAL?
Phoebe, Chuck and Claudia were interested in the purchase of Heirloom before he was even born. Our request to The Foal Gods were only 50% met as we wanted a chestnut filly....well, he's all boy!!! Although a bit quirky, Heirloom's nickname, "Tomato" has been a ton of fun for all of us at Thornridge. We wanted to embrace his red-ness and sometimes their are variables that come to mind: "The Rotten Vegetable" came about when he was determined not to load the trailer for his foal inspection and "The Great Tomato" came about when he cleaned house at his first DSHB Show. Bred by Ginger Parker, of Flower Farm, Heirloom comes with an all star line of Dutch Bloodlines: Metall/Olympic Ferro, Idocus, Jazz/Cocktail, and Zeoleit/G. Ramiro Z. But, bloodlines aside, this colt was purchased mostly from the heart as he is the full sibling to Phoebe's 2012 4YO Markel mount, Veronica. Everyone at Thornridge anxiously awaits what Team-Tomato has to offer in the future!!!SEPTEMBER 2012 UPDATE:
We are thrilled to report that Heirloom was nearly undefeated at the very prestigious Dressage At Devon Breed Show!! He placed 2nd in his Weanlings of 2012 Class with an outstanding 80%!!! That same day, he went on to win GRAND CHAMPION EAST COAST FINALS FOR FOALS!!!!! Two days later, he WON his IBC OLD/NA CLASS, with a 78%, one of the highest scores given by that judge that day!!!! After his showing debut, Tomato's Championship has been represent IN THE PRESS in the following ways: Eurodressage News Release, ISR-OLD/NA (and most other Breed Organizations, too) website News Release and photos, the January 2012 Maryland's Equiery DAD Report with photos, the January 2013 issue of Dressage Today, and the annual ISR-OLD/NA 2013 Breeder's Journal with photos.
