2008 DK Bay Mare, Registered OLD/GOV, By LeSanto out of Barry's Money (Secretariat Lines). Star and RH Sock. Expected maturity at 16.2(+).

BACKGROUND & BLOODLINES:Roo was bred and is still owned by Flying Lion Farm in FL. She earned her OLD/GOV approval at only 16 days old. She was shown in hand lightly as a weanling and yearling. She has had extensive handling and is just the sweetest mare available!! She is anything but the alpha mare in the field with mates. In the fall of her 2 yo year, she was lightly backed (not more then 20 rides) and has earned the "easiest-horse-to-ride-status" from her saddle starter!!! She is a wonderful combination of sane/sensible and yet not dull!!! To view some baby pictures and several pics of her first few days undersaddle please go to:

Roo is out of a TB mare with immediate Secretariat Lines: it is no stretch to say that Roo puts her whole heart into everything that she offers both undersaddle and in her personal relationships. Roo's sire is the legendary Holsteiner (and deceased) LeSanto. Widely recognized as "the ideal modern sporthorse," LeSanto is well know for producing premium foals and subsequent performance masterpieces, in both the dressage and hunter world. He, himself was not only a GP jumper, but shifted disciplines, as a 13 yo, into the FEI dressage arena.

CURRENTLY:Thornridge Manor has watched, from afar, the development of Roo....we have been in love with her since a weanling.....AND, we are so excited now, starting in February 2011, to offer her for sale as a sport horse prospect!!! After visiting her in FL, and having the opportunity to send her thru her first free-jump shoot, we can say, with confidence, that Roo is a definite candidate for hunters, jumpers, or dressage!!! This mare is an athlete with an engine from behind. Her floppy ears and soft expression, though, lend her to the AA owner. Roo reminds us so much of our/her half sibling, Windsong FV, who can also be viewed on our our sale page. With so few LeSantos still available....this mare is a super find to continue her sire's legacy!!!!

FUTURE:Roo's price has been reasonably set, even though we have immediate room for negotiation. She will be re-started undersaddle shortly at TM and we just cannot wait!!! We will keep posting pictures and video with her development this winter 2011.
